About Us

Rooted in History, Innovating for the Future

Nestled among the rich, sweeping agricultural lands just three miles south of Salinas, the Spreckels community carries a legendary legacy. Established in 1899 by Claus Spreckels and immortalized in the iconic literature of John Steinbeck, our historic town has always been anchored by a deep sense of community, hard work, and connection.

Today, that same community spirit drives Spreckels Union School District (SUSD). We believe that educating our children is a shared responsibility, and our students are at the very heart of everything we do.
